Michael has been a collector of Australian and International Fine Art with his interest in art dating back to studying Fine Art at Melbourne University.
For over forty years, Michael has been a Director of Lauraine Diggins Fine Art, established by his late wife in 1974. The Gallery specialises in Australian and Indigenous painting, sculpture and decorative arts, as well as sourcing international art, including major European artworks. The Gallery exhibits quality artworks with a focus on scholarship.
Michael has served on the Board of the Art Foundation of the National Gallery of Victoria and provides advice to a number of collectors - private, corporate and institutional, particularly in regard to acquisitions and collection management.
